@carpathianflorist and @frozenchosen are both gay men (female) who dress in drag and collaborate on LGBT issues. They ran it together and are constantly on the hunt for talent.

โ€œPeople want to be part of it and help and create,โ€ said Carpathian. โ€œIโ€™m not in it to make money. Iโ€™m in it to do it.โ€

Pizzashill, co-founder of Marsey Pride Media, said the inspiration for his organization came after meeting other LGBTQ LGBT photographers and artists online. They wanted to create a network for LGBT people to share resources. The makeup artists, dancers, and stylists do not charge a fee and photos are free to share.

โ€œWe wanted to get out there and inspire people and let people know that they werenโ€™t alone in this world,โ€ Pizzashill said. โ€œThey had the option of being who they are.โ€

The ballroom scene has exploded

The Marsey Pride ballroom scene has been around since 2007.

Its original location was a dance club on r/drama and โ€œothers.โ€ It expanded in 2007 when it moved to the S*x Club on r/askgaybros. In 2008, it moved again and has been at its current location at Carpathianโ€™s apartment in Laurel since.
