My favorite elephant fact is that males are mostly peaceful pro-social animals until they enter Musth where they become violent s*x-crazed lunatics for a couple months. They get crazy eyes, 100x testoterone, piss hormone laden piss all over themselves, and every remotely intelligent animal except horny female elephants knows to steer clear of them.
