Dad added me as an authorized user to his credit card so I can get my credit score up to 750 so I can meet the criteria for very low income housing.

As very low income housing, the 30% AMI units where the city gives tax breaks to housing developers if they build units that rent to people that make under $22,000 annual income or 30% of the AMI require a 750 credit score and my credit score is only 724, then I have to get it up 26 points so I can qualify for very low income housing.

I have good credit a 100% payment history on my report and my credit is too bad for very low income housing units. I'm about to just get a mortgage and buy a house instead.

Now since I was denied for very low income housing based on credit for having good instead of excellent credit, I have to wait for 3 more years up a waitlist.

If you can't even rent, I doubt you could buy.

I am renting, I've made over 100% of my rent payments.

It's just landlords are too darn selective and I'm sure there are low interest loans that help people with disabilities buy a house. My credit score is high enough to qualify, and buy a house.

Not high enough to rent a very low income apartment.

Yeah how dare those landlords be weary of renting to someone with no real income lmao

You would need to talk with a mortgage broker about that. Even with subsidies, it can be hard to find a house in your price range that isn't a shithole.

Jump in the discussion.

Yeah, but probably easier to buy a house then wait up another 3 year waitlist and rent a very low income apartment.

Cheaper too even if it's a shithole the mortagage will be less than rent.

Why tf does low income housing require a 750, it'd be hard enough :marseyitsallsotiresome: for poors to keep above 600. If you're homeless :marseystinky: with a full time job and a 500 score you should :marseynorm: qualify

Very low income housing.

Market rate apartments only require a 650.

Honestly, I think they are selectively applying their credit rules and it's a fair housing violation due to gender identity, but I need a 750 credit score to rent.

It is however easier to buy a house in my city than to rent an apartment.

I have a plan to pursue supportive employment.

I'm going to be working at a grocery store making about $610 a month depending on the medicaid income limits.

I'm waiting for benefits assessment on the 18th to let me know how much I can work.

I told my case manager, I wanted to be just like pizzashill!

I was disenrolled from Medicaid, they did an expedited re enrollment, my benefits changed from special status Mediciaid to a form of medicaid for people working or pursuing employment. Needed a new benefit assessment to see how much I could work.

Honestly, considering that I have 3 DSM diagnosises of developmental and intellectual disabilities and I'm enrolled and keeping up with mainstream college courses, I'm functioning much better than I should.

Being an butthole to people with intellectual disabilities is just being an butthole.

I am actually legally r-slurred so you can't call me r-slur.

Considering that I'm able to pay bills by putting everything on autopay and am living independently, it's not as if I am not working hard and trying.

750 is a ridiculous credit score for low income animals renters.

The average poor has a terrible credit score or no history at all.

Seems like a shitty grift from developers to milk the city and then say "oh we're at 5% occupancy"

You should complain to city council, seriously. Real estate developer welfare is fricking gross and they deserve the wall

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

Honestly, the city council kind of suckpuppets on the city subreddit with a bunch of alts demonizing and making up fake stories about homeless people smearing shit all over the walls and defending the actions of bad landlords and housing developers.

They all kind of brigade together to control the narrarative.

Reporting it the city council won't do much.

If you want good credit here's how you do it:

Apply to two or three no fee credit cards, lie about your income since I assume you don't work. When you get approved spend a little bit each month on each card.

Always pay on time, never close them you want the average age of account to be long.

Every 6 months request a credit limit increase.

I have 826 and I have 8 credit cards I barely use.

True answer, I need to remain under Medicaid income limits because private insurance doesn't cover long term care programs and they require Medicaid.

I just have a high vocabulary intelligence so I can speak eloquently and it was missed but developmentally and intellectually disabled. I have 3 DSM diagnosises of developmental disabilities.

Considering I'm capable of living independently with a part time caregiver instead of in a group home or institutional setting, and have been paying bills and finding ways to work with my intellectual impairment to function such as putting bills on autopay, it's not as if I'm not putting forth effort. I need to set a lot of reminders on my phone otherwise I'll forget even simple things.

It does cause trust issues though because companies exploit the ways I manage to function such as suddenly jacking up the internet bill from $20 to $77 a few months after I put it on autopay.

I'm just able to emulate being functional very well. It's just my attention, focus, memory, congitive abilities, are really really shit.
