lol an ex of mine said something to me long ago that really works -- never gaf about what anyone thinks and just ask questions and say what you need to say. Loser wagies will hate you and call you stupid and whatever, but people with money will appreciate the candor. The latter are who you want to impress. Go in there and just be like "it's been so long I don't remember details, so can you bring me up to speed?" Nothing wrong with this.

It's the thing I tried to get basic information on for weeks. It's also led by this lady who is very good at what she does, but her communication skills are atrocious, and who can't stop repeating things and needing constant affirmation that what she's saying has been heard.

Used to do meetings with this former marine, and they were great. Meetings were always fast and productive.
