My theory is because it was directly managed by Ryze & Tryndamere (co-founders). They originally made the game great then passed it on to r-slurs like Meddler and Jag. The founders want League to be a multimedia franchise and they poured everything into Arcane. Rumor is that each episode cost ~20 mil with another 100mil on advertising/promotion, so almost 300mil in total

I only play casually, havent played a single game of ranked in lol. There are some r-slurs but you can just ignore them if it gets too bad. Most annoying thing is trash champions like yuumi which should just be removed from the game imo.
And I was pretty salty when my first account got banned. I previously received a 2 week ban for calling someone a cute twink and then after that ban ran out I was arguing with some dude and then he and his 3 premades reported me and got me permad. I was pretty mad since I didnt say anything offensive but apparently I was on 'probation' and because I got reported 4 times riot permad me. Totally not a scheme to get me to spend money on a new account tho...

Have you seen Texhnolyze and/or Haibane Renmei? Alongside Lain they're commonly dubbed the ABe Trilogy by fans (even though he only wrote the script for Haibane, he did the character designs and was involved for all three).
Some say they're all pretentious but I disagree. Imo: Texh > Haibane Renmei > Lain.

Reading Gunnm: Mars Chronicles (Battle Angel Alita 3, basically) it started really nice but I don't know where the author is going with the plot. I get he wants to give some background on the main characters but he's basically made Erica into the protagonist, but she's a b-word. And dead! Who cares about her dumb butt life as an 8 years old. Reminds me of Cerulea getting a whole butt book about her when she's barely relevant to the story.
