Note that despite what this guy says, if you ever try to have a conversation with him, he will refuse to engage with you unless you adhere to an extremely narrow set of "rules" and if you press him on anything, he threatens to block you (which who gives a frick, but reddit's block feature is so annoying because it prevents you from responding to people other than the person who blocks you).

The projection in your reply is astonishing (minus the blocking). I rarely block btw.

Most on this sub, not all, are not the brightest sparks and you are definitely included in that statement. Many are a combination of bad faith, confirmation bias, or just generally fanatically cheerleading a position. I don't think many have any idea of objectivity, or its meaning and seem to think because they normalise subjective reasoning as its all they are capable of, that therefore applies to everyone else's mentality. Hence the projection.

I didn't arrive at the above conclusion through arrogance or readily, it was seeming a lot on this sub might be like that early on. But after a couple of years on here it's become extremely apparent.

Heh.

In any case, I don't think the free will issue can be resolved with our current knowledge. We don't know enough about the brain, we don't have the technology to understand it, and we especially don't even have the terminology or language in the mechanistic-universe-influenced West to even conceptualize the gradations of this topic.
