I really wish they had liberal but tough on crime political leaders that's the perfect combination. I hate all the anti-police and pro-crime nonsense that is popular. Police are the reason we don't need to pay "protection money" to some gang leader to not get attacked by him and his gang, but instead the rule of law is upheld, police women and men do one of the most important services so they should be valued.

American police burned through their public support by being both hyper aggressive roided out r-slurs LARPing as soldiers and then total kitties when facing actual threats. Plus not bothering to do their jobs unless it's running speed traps even in areas where every other car, store and house has thin blue line and x county sheriff's association supporter signs up, they get tons of funding and run local politics.

The way American cops act versus cops in other western countries is night and day.

Plenty of police officers burned through the good will of Americans. Not all but public perception is pretty much shot. I think it's just a very corruptable system coming to terms with the always online society we're in today. They need to clearly establish that for better or worse, they are there to uphold the law and they will not suffer c*nts who would abuse the authority granted to them.

Uphill battle. I couldn't be paid enough to deal with it.

!chuds, look at how easily the pinkoids revise history (over the past 8 years). 50 years would make "sense," but these r-slurs have the memory of a goldfish.

Unbelievable! Another pinkoid out of nowhere thinks @tempest's reasonable post about anti-cop r-slurs is bait:

Basically everybody I know who's staunchly anti-police at some point in their lives broke the law and got in trouble for it and are still bitter about it.

One of my right-leaning friends for example is quite anti-police. If you really drill down on it, turns out he's upset about a speeding ticket he got. While speeding, it was totally justified, but how DARE they write HIM a ticket??

As far as I can tell, that's what most of the opposition really boils down to.

People are also annoyed with them because they are useless when you get robbed. Someone steals your phone, you can show that it's in that crack house over there, and the cops are unwilling to go get a warrant and recover your obviously stolen shit along with whatever else is there.

They'll say stuff like that but it's not true. If it were then they'd be in favor of stronger policing policies. But they aren't.

I've definitely heard the excuse you're talking about, though. "Ugh police are just so useless they don't do anything." / "So you agree that we should step up enforcement and increase our arrests?" / "NOOOO THAT'S FASCISM."

This reads like the "common sense gun laws" argument when some former felon commits a crime with an illegally-acquired gun. What "stronger policing policies" would be needed in a situation where there's already enough evidence for cops to do their jobs?

They're more likely to go arrest someone if they don't get immediately let go.

Every time the police go to make an arrest - even in the situation you brought up - they're putting themselves in danger. Why bother if it won't amount to anything?

Cops were unwilling to recover stolen property even in an era of stricter policing. And in either case, even if there is no arrest, at least you get your property back. The cops are simply lazy a lot of the time, which for some reason cop defenders in are unwilling to acknowledge. Reminds me of a joke.

A man sees someone breaking into his shed. He calls police. They say they don't have anyone available right now. They'll be there as soon as they can, but it may be two hours. The man hangs up.

A few minutes later he calls again and tells them to take their time. He's pulled out his rifle and shot the man. He's not going anywhere. Within minutes the place is swarming with police, helicopters, cars, dogs, etc. They find the man breaking into the shed and arrest him.

The police go to the man, "I thought you said you shot him!"

The man responds "I thought you said you had no one available"

Much of the country never relaxed laws and prosecutions; the cops still are too lazy to do actual police work. In rural Alabama I saw a road rager deliberately run over someone with his truck. The driver tried to run a red light, stopped just short of hitting someone in the crosswalk, then when the pedestrian pointed at the red light and said "what the heck!?" The driver hit the gas, knocked the pedestrian under his tires and dragged him a couple yards and took off.

I got the license plate plus the victim reported it as well. The police didn't care and just said they were filing an erratic driver report. Literally just run the plates and go get the guy.

Property crime is extremely common and they're would be no police resources to tackle it for the rate is occurs at. I agree they should do something about that, maybe a police accountability office where if you fill out a report they are mandated to retrieve it?

Not being an r-slur helps.

>be me

>gonna be late for work

>driving 95 in a 65

>pulled over

>dont bs the cop

>tell him I'm trying to get to work on time cause i left home later than usual

>ask him wtf to do because first ticket ever

>says hes gonna do me a solid and put me as 70 in a 65

>processed my shit insanely quickly to not delay me further than necessary

Still took a plea in abeyance instead. Turns out if you're nice to cops they wont be peepeewads. Dont want to get stopped by cops? Dont break the law lol.
