I rarely watch movies at the theater anymore, but when I did I almost always went alone. Even at times when I was seeing someone.

I loathe people who talk to you in the middle of a movie, which, apparently, is everyone.

Now I just wait for it to hit streaming/disc and watch it at home, in peace, at my convenience.

With each generation more and more people are alone and friendless. It might have been weird in the boomer era but it's not unusual now. You can take some alcohol with you if it helps you feel less self conscious.
