This movie has upset and enraged me for years. My hatred for this film grows exponentially as time passes.Now you're probably thinking oh come on the movie wasn't too bad i quite enjoyed it. Well obviously you are simple minded and are easily distracted by spaceships and special effects.Below are some of the key flaws/criticisms/aboritions of the film. Just like the films plot these are in no logical order and may not make any sense.1) Opening sceneWhite being (we will call them makers) kills himself at a waterfall which looks like earth. Doesnt clearly tie into the plot later on but apparently symbolises him spreading his DNA to create humans. I am no scientist but couldn't he have used a syringe or some other extraction procedure like ejaculation? This advanced being instead destroyed himself.....well played.2) DNA matchHuman DNA matched exactly to the makers DNA. Yet obviously not the same beings and if DNA was spread into the water at start wouldn't it bind with plants and anima... (-2)

I'm sorry but i hate this movie with the passion of thousand suns. The writing is absolutely abysmal. The incompetence of the crew from weyland to hanger workers is topped only by the actual screenwriters. To list a few. The crew that is supposed to meet aliens, the most important mission of mankind (as the movie states) made by the most wealthy person ever, doesn't know what the mission is until they are almost there. While I understand the secrecy the company did not even run psychotests on the crew and it's full of people who are prone to panic and insanely irresponsible behaviour and apparently some of them are frantically scared of meeting aliens.Speaking of the guy who is frantically scared of aliens, pets a giant alien snake/worm thats friggning hissing at him.The guy with 3d map gets lost. Nuff said.Looney toons style of running straight from a rolling boulder instead of turning to the side. The other girl even crawls away while the other one dies because she kept running st... (1)

Prometheus and Covenant are both awful for the same reason: the writing.The plot relies on intelligent, educated, prepared professionals acting and doing things that make them seem like idiots and amateurs. In writing, it's called the idiot plot. None of the main characters - except maybe Noomi Rapace's and Charlize Theron's - are remotely believable in their roles as top-in-their-field geologists, biologists, captains, archaeologists. We're literally told, in so many words, that these character are brilliant, which makes their decision making completely out-of-character and ruins the movie.Here are the worst examples of it in Prometheus:Geologist gets lost in a cave...after thoroughly mapping it. I won't spend long on this one, because it speaks for itself. In the same scene where the geologist radios the ship about being lost, the captain is looking at a holo-projection of the very cave structure they're "lost" in. I can't even.Xenobiologist tries to pet aggressive alien snake. I ... (2)

Trailers made it seem like it might actually be a nice Kubrick/Lovecraft sort of slow burn eerie cosmic horror movie. So I went to see it when it came out.
