Shortly after making this twit in a leftwing space, I made essentially the same tweet to an early official rightwing take.

The response is a sort of mild virality, both on the leftwing sides and rightwing sides. See on Twitter you jump hashtags and so there is a mixing of audiences.

But the 'report' function is always weaponized, and on the rightwing side my reasonable assertion as to the scope of presidential immunity if this argument were to hold weight, that President Biden must execute Trump to end the Civil War Trump began on January 6th, is treated as a call for violence instead of a reasoned position within the context of a Supreme Court trial.

In effect I am not saying anything that was not said in the Supreme Court.

And my tweet in leftwing spaces stays up.

You can see that this has the effect of continuing the rightwing hugbox. You can see that they deplatform positions that they don't care to hear.

This is where the tweet lived before being deleted.

I thought about appealing. But instead I just deleted the tweet and accepted that the censorship that Elon Musk's twitter performs is demeaning of Elon Musk. It's not my problem to fix.

This is how censorship works.

It doesn't have to deplatform every instance, just the ones that are in a place which might be heard. And it frustrates the feelings of rightwing people so they're very quick to shut it down.

The Left is far more lenient in its application of free speech principles than the Right. It can be easy to forget this when the Left is ascendant as it was 2012-2016.
