I feel for the guy because I really think he assumed the school had taken care of whatever they needed clearance on so that those there would be aware and willing participants in the event. The Pride rep explaining how the ability to choose one's own entertainment was taken away is such a great way to put it.

The previous performance he had there was so wildly different (at least from the clip) that comparing the two would seem nearly impossible. He seems to be a great and I think this is just a misstep by everyone involved with a lot of unchecked boxes and poor communication.

Yeah, that comment is acting like the queen had zero agency whatsoever. Like he got to the prom and was like β€œUh oh. Looks like there are minors here. I shouldn't be twerking at them, but unfortunately, I have to, because I was contracted.”

But I'm gonna tell my fellow dramatards a secret about drag queens, since I actually know a few and watch Drag Race like a normie: most of them are fricking r-slurred. This one probably didn't think twice about the twerking, not because he wants to corrupt the youth, but because The Advocate and NOW THIS have informed him that drag is a moral imperative.
