Hitler brought the former antisemitic fascist military dictator, Eric Ludendorff, with him to the Munich Beer Hall and tried to strongarm the Bavarian governor into doing the same thing, but to work for Hitler.

The US constitution does have a provision that if a presidential candidate doesn't get the necessary votes, it will eventually descend into a quasi-parliamentary style where the majority of States, regardless of population, decide who is president. Since there is a majority of flyover States with Republican legislatures, they'd win every time.
