Im married to a teacher so I've got some shit to say.

1. These motherlovers do not work 40hr a week average. Even if they worked summer breaks, they still don't do 40 average. An average teacher's day is 6-8 hours and sometimes they work more than that if there is a school event or some shit.

2. Most teachers aren't teachers. The dumb fricks you see on reddit are mostly teachers aids and other bullshit like that. Being a teacher's aid doesn't even require a bachelors degree, sometimes.

Teacher's credentials vary from state-to-state with Maryland and California being the "gold standard" of teaching credentials (teachers credentialed in those states can work in just about any other state woth that credential). To be a teacher, you need a bachelors, then a masters, then a credential.

In CA, it takes like three years to take all the classes and get your hours for a preliminary credential. It's treated like a full credential (pay wise) but you still have to work X amount of hours before you are fully certified. Becoming a teacher is not easy and it's not cheap, but it can pay well.

My wife did all that shit and makes 90K a year with a motherfricking pension while working less than 40 hours a week on average, teaching Spanish 3 at a high school. Actual teachers are doing fine, it's just that it's hard to become an actual teacher so schools hire aids and other r-slurs to do the b-word work for cheap.

Just going to say, all the people I know, with the exception of one guy, who went into teaching, should not be teaching.

I remember one time I overheard two teachers complaining to each other about how 'over it' they were and how they couldnt wait for the holidays.

It was the second week of the school year.

Classes are open for 7 hours a day. You're basically saying your wife shows up and leaves at the same times as the students. No prep, no cleanup, no grading papers, no staying after to help students.

Unless she's doing a lot outside of work and you're just ignoring that time spent.
