For those who missed it: Metro put out this article with the racist headline "Sorry straight white men, Doctor Who was never made for you". Shockingly, this didn't go over well with the fans, and the backlash was so severe it appears Metro has ended up deleting their entire Twitter/X account in response.
Edit: oh, and the writer of that dog-shit article protected her account, because of course she did. I'm begging you, Elon, get rid of protected tweets.

Amusingly enough, Doctor Who was EXPLICITLY made for Straight White Men when it debuted back in the 60s.
According to the 1961 Census of England and Wales, Britain was 99% White at the time. It wasn't until the 1981 Census that there was an appreciable number of non-White residents in the country.

They're called the Daleks and they can go up stairs easily.
They're actually wearing dresses (some fabric made of metal that's never been fully explained on the show) over their long stick legs, and when they need to go up stairs they simply hitch up their skirt and walk up the stairs like anyone else.
