For me it because as an artcel I can't stand the shitlibification of entertainment, having to worry about not using forbidden words that change every week, about "punching down", having to include diversity so people won't accuse your art being only for white people because they can't related with someone unless it looks like them, etc
Also the idea that some people nowadays seem unable to separating art for reality so you will get accused of condoning evil behaviour if you find the villain to be fun or morally ambiguous or whatever, like for example shitlibs losing their mind about chuds enjoying the imperium on 40k or shit like that

Friends of mine have shown me this as well. One of them bought a second nintendo switch because she wanted a second animal crossing island (I guess you can only ever have one island per device/account?) while literally subsisting on student loans. Another is struggling to save enough money to buy a house but has spent hundreds on titty gifs in Nikke. And yet another is broke as frick with virtually no income but still like a third of his spending is weed.
I think there probably exist some poor people who are poor because of their circumstances or bad luck. But they don't live in the US. The ones here are poor because they're r-slurred with money and have literally no drive to better their own circumstances.

I think coming out, not being attacked by conservatives but being creeped on by older, progressive men followed up with my first presidential election being Hilldawg vs Trump, I was gobsmacked by the lack of awareness as to how democracy was being undermined by the democratic party. Like I was a middle of the road moderate with an edgy sense of humor turned into an 80-year-old republican after seeing Democrats literally lobby the electoral college to overturn the election.
4 years of Biden made me realize Dems are probably not acting in good faith.

I wouldn't say I chudded out but they're just so fricking annoying about everything and simultaneously unprincipled. They will b-word about things but be unable to follow through with action when things get even a little inconvenient. It's performance, it's not real. I can't be sold on their asks if they're not even taking themselves seriously. For example: Why are so many leftoids still on Twitter giving Elon Musk $$$ when they think Elon is Hitler? Well, because they don't actually believe it. But ask most and their rationalization defense mechanism will activate and generate overthought slop. Their thoughts are probably more moderate but they pretend to be radical. So screw all that I'll just operate on self-interest since that's probably what everyone's doing anyway.

Ok I just checked out that sub. It appears to be a den of snakes, trolls, and alt right Nazis. I saw several clear violations of Reddit law. We're are smarter than the average cookies, they had to know we'd be on to them. Sad.
