Complete woodworking noob here. I'm looking for help on building this style sign for my wedding.
We were thinking of 54”x72”x0.5” MDF board for the back
For the shelves, about 3/4”-1” thickness. Should I be looking to use screws or just wood glue to hold these in place?
For standing up the sign, I've found either metal angled braces or wooden triangle braces (attached images). I'm not sure which is more sturdy? I suspect I may need to put some sandbags to counterweight the sign too. I also don't want screws to poke through the front so I'm unsure if 1/2” screws will suffice for holding up the sign?
Any advice would be much appreciated!
