In September 2022, the phrase was used to mock Biden and compare him to Adolf Hitler, during his Battle for the Soul of the Nation speech on Trump and his supporters.[64] During the speech, TV cameras framed Biden in front of a background illuminated by red lighting, along with two uniformed Marines on either side, with The Guardian calling it "dark", and New York Magazine saying the speech prompted "numerous comparisons of Biden to Hitler and Satan".

Dark Brandon wasn't the administration's idea. They tried, poorly, to hijack it when it became synonymous with the abolition of Roe v. Wade and the conspiracy meme of how it was our Catholic president that enabled it. The DNC's zoomer psyop brigade couldn't allow that narrative to stick, so they briefed all their late-night NPC drones on Dark Brandon and tried to co-opt it, ruining it instantly.
