I agree but the camera is fining people for going 6 over... to me thats bs. Especially when on my daily drive to the gym I see the worst of the worst drivers, doing 90 in a 60 etc and no consequences for them? But cause Im going 56 km in a 50 zone I get a hefty fine? (7)

So from your post history it seems like you got popped going too fast and are mad about it. Like, why not sack up and admit that you were in the wrong, instead of doubling down? Most people speed. It's generally fine. But there are some places where it is more risky/dangerous and there need to be measures in places to prevent it. Why not just comply for just a little while so that you, I dunno, don't kill a kid or something. It's really not too much to ask to be a tiny bit considerate about other people. (7)

I never claimed that I didn't speed, even in the previous post. I paid the ticket and I'm driving in the 40s in that stretch. I just find it scummy they that the city turned up the sensitivity so high. Just seems like an obvious money grab aimed to target working class people. (-4)

The problem is that I think this camera has made me a worse driver. I spend more time watching my speedometer than I do watching the road. If I'm driving normally, I wouldn't need to care if I'm going 5-10 over the limit. But now I have a very small margin I need to stick to which means I'm more prone to missing things I wouldn't have missed otherwise. (-2)

You were already a bad driver if you can't do both those things while driving. Can't believe you're even blaming the camera for making you a worse driver, thats some dumbass teenager shit. Grow up. I drive the limit, but everyone else doesn't. I drive the limit, I got some guy behind me honking or yelling at me, and lets be realistic 99% of drivers go a little over the limit. Im saying that the camera will fine people for going 6 km over the limit which I think is total BS and is just a way to take more money from Canadians. In many cases you need to "keep the flow of traffic" going by going a few km over. If you think 6km over is "bad driving" you dont drive in Newmarket. The amount of terrible driving I see on the daily and people doing 90+ in a 50 or 60 zone is more common than not. Why punish people for keeping up with traffic over a measly 6km? (1)

To put it in a way you can understand. Community safety zones are areas where there is more pedestrian traffic. School zones because there is a school and there are more kids than other places on the same street. I understand that you don't get how cars work, because cars that go fast, can go through fences like the one between Bathurst and the school on the same street where the camera is so cars don't go too fast. No? It's not difficult to slow down to 50 for what feels like under a minute. If you feel pressured by the cars behind you, then you're a coward. Those people behind you will be mad and will have to slow down too but you didn't get a ticket and didn't run over a kid. Maybe you're just upset that you're selfish and your trip was extended a few seconds? The worst is that you're trying to blame the town for “trying to make a buck” off people by protecting little kids. Grow up. (2)

You're seriously telling me you got a drivers license but don't possess the ability to keep your car under a certain speed limit. Like, you're admitting this. Maybe - just maybe - you won't be stricken dead if your speed momentarily dips to 49 or (gulp!) 48!! What's your strategy to keep your car from going 90 constantly if you're incapable of looking at your speedometer (odometer tells you the total distance your car has traveled) (holy frick you literally didn't know jfc) (2)
