United States Senate Committee on Armed Services says: equal rights, equal fights

https://www.armed-services.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/fy25_ndaa_executive_summary.pdf

One of the items under point 3, on page 3:

Amends the Military Selective Service Act to require the registration of women for Selective Service.

Or as a commenter elsewhere said: WNBA hopefuls won't be the only women registering for the draft any more.

Large businesses back in the 30 and 40s realized they could drive down wages if they employed women, effectively halving salaries in the best cases. So they got real progressive.

When the business moguls of the 70s and 80s made the realization that women spend all the household earnings and husbands often got In of way with that, they became very progressive around the idea of women earning more money than men. In both cases the businesses knew the quality of work would drop significantly but still pulled the levers to make it happen.

What does the modern military stand to gain by putting women in it's ranks?
