The Bisbee Daily Review was formed from the Cochise Review in 1901. The paper provided "mining news from every county in Arizona" and was "published in the best mining city on earth." In 1903, William Kelly and his father, "Major" George Kelly formed the Consolidated Printing Company. In addition to the Bisbee Daily Review, they also bought and eventually owned all the dailies in Arizona's southeastern mining districts. The Kellys had recieved backing from the Philips-Dodge Consolidated Metals company of New York which controlled much of the mining industry in Arizona and wished to ensure that there was no outlet for negative news about their holdings in any of the newspapers aimed at the mining community. Bereft of any capacity to print true stories about the industry, the Review aimed for the lowest common denominator and printed lurid, sensationalist stories often lacking a modicum of veracity because William Kelly thought that such content would appeal to the baser interests of the working Arizonan.

Abolition of cats as a sanitary and health protecting measure is now imperative. Cats have no more place in this world than cockroaches, mosquitos, or flies.
