Juneteenth has to be the worst name for a holiday. How am I supposed to know what day it is when it could be any day from the 13th to the 19th. Piss poor naming convention tbh.

Honestly it comes from the black American community in Texas in the 1970's. They were celebrating the last section of slaves to be freed which was in Texas. When the civil war ended the message about slaves suddenly being free wasn't quickly distributed across all slave owning areas for some reason. It took Texas the longest because they're slower than most states. Hear how slow they speak there?
