God, I hate the cancer false equivalence, I also hate how illiterate the general public is regarding to what cancer is and how it is treated.

If he beat cancer then his cancer is already treatable. There's no silver bullet against cancer despite schizo ramblings about le evil big pharma, it's all about early detection followed by surgical removal of the tumor (depending on the type of cancer) and chemotherapy/radiotherapy to destroy cancerous cells, and then a bunch of periodical check ups to ensure the cancer doesn't returns (more accurately to check if there aren't any residual cancerous cells which passed undetected during remission). If detected too late and the cancer has reached metastasis stage it's over.

I your true concern is about carcinogenic substances proliferating because people stop taking care about it once cancer becomes curable (at large scale public cost) because they don't have to pay the true costs of their actions themselves then yes, you should be mad at the government handing out free cancer treatments.
