  • you should have a fire extinguisher in your kitchen

  • you should familiarize yourself with the operation of your fire extinguisher

  • you should NOT test it because the cheap ones are good for one use ONLY, then they leak their propellant charge out

  • A small fire should have a large plate slid over the top of the opening of the burning vessel, do NOT use a fire extinguisher unless your shit is about to burn the house down because

  • fire extinguishers make a TREMENDOUS MESS when used, and the dust is often cancerous to electronics

I use a rechargeable Halon extinguisher amd it doesn't have any of these problems. Poors smh

I have my whole house set up with a Halon setup instead of sprinklers. anyone inside the home will suffocate if it's used but it puts out a fire like nobodies business

Also, you also need to have your extinguisher recharged or replaced every 2 years (timeframe depending on the extinguisher). Local fire departments in most western countries will charge your fire extinguisher for free.
