Comedians always pander to the lowest common denominator they can.

Mildly abusive parenting is the most common Asian experience. Its why Asian foids crumble and fall to their knees at the tiniest hint of positive male attention.

The reason why Ali Wong is the most successful Asian comedian at the current moment is because she has some show biz experience in addition to the wildly common Asian tropes and honestly I think Bill Hader punches up her work for her since they are dating.

Asian-Americans also hit their "rebellious" stage in their late 20s/early 30s for some reason. Comedy is one of the acceptable barely accepted rebellion choices in the Asian community. Its somewhere down there with getting a small tattoo.

Other barely accepted rebellious choices in the Asian community are: Becoming an award winning chef, becoming a pastor/priest, becoming a recognizable actor, dating a Chinese if you are not Chinese, dating SEAsians if you are not SEAsian, dating someone poorer than you (if female), dating someone richer than you (if male) and of course, becoming any sort of internet celebrity making over 500k, if you are some sort of internet celebrity but make under 500k you are disappointing your parents.
