Because it's costly signaling. Publicly believing in "hilariously stupid" things signals loyalty to the group because you're degrading yourself to everyone else. And foids care intensely about loyalty and belonging, and they have less allowance for people questioning "hilariously stupid" shit because they read it as disloyalty and attack accordingly.
