Reddit is a ghost town now.
— Reddit Lies (@reddit_lies) June 24, 2024
The largest subreddit (r/funny) has 60 million members but had only 44 posts in the past 24 hours.
r/Apple, 5 million, only had 9 posts over 24 hours.
TBH I donβt think Reddit survives past the 2024 election after the bots turn off. https://t.co/fRNIRnhAuD pic.twitter.com/6L9YhrGHPK

I noticed a lot of big subs I was visiting have been dead lately. I just figured it was the jannies doing it deliberately like /r/actualpublicfreakouts.

If engagement with the site is dead and the stock hasn't dropped to zero it must mean they have basically monetized the site off of their API changes last year for LLM trainers scraping it and political shills using the API to scrape it and post replies to political threads. When the AI bubble pops and the election has passed reddit is donezo.
