I think that the rationalist community is indeed funny and very much worth mocking, but I'm not sure that all the pearl-clutching about the supposedly abused women actually makes sense. I mean, it's not Saudi Arabia, the women can go leave at any time they want. Of course it's not surprising that the rationalist scene is full of neurodivergent techies who try to make sexuality very logical and overt, but I assume that the women who are involved in the scene can just get up and walk out the door any time they want to, with the exception of extremely rare genuine sexual kidnapping that can happen in any community.

I haven't gone to SneerClub much but every time I have, my reaction was... ew. They somehow make their dunking on rationalists even more cringy than rationalists themselves are, which is really saying something.
