Ngl though, its kinda ridiculous that you can evade serial numbers by buying a not fully finished part.
Why don't they demand serial numbers on the barrel, though? That's how it works where I live, and an 80% finished barrel would be kinda difficult to finish at home, at least if you want quality work. And I dont imagine a 3D printed barrel works well or long.

Is it tho? What do serials actually do? Here in Canada for a while they made everyone put serials on their guns, most people just put a 0 or 1 on their gun and called it a day
Cuz a barrel is generally just mild steel the likes of which can be bough at any hardware store.
