my belief is the most r-slurred of all: the founders did intend for citizens to privately own military warships and equivalents but that it should not actually be implemented that way (because I cannot afford an f-35)

The reason why you can't afford a F35 is the government is infringing on your constitutional rights :marseyslipperyslope: by not making them more affordable. Same reason for the NFA, the required $200 tax stamp was financially prohibitive back when it was implemented.
