I don't know wtf this site is, but it seems it's the only place in the internet where people have IQ above my dog's IQ, so I registered just to reply in this thead.
I am fixated on the authenticity of MTC's Instagram account. The only one which have probability of being legit.
And the alleged post of his mother's rambling would make a lot of sense to understand his motivation: that he was bullied and had fricked up mother.
Everything would be alright unless one little detail - his father didn't pass away and he isn't a veteran, but social worker ( officially verified information ).
But the is small possibility of this story to be true - if the shooter was an adopted child from another father.
But now let's turn to the analysis of other data we have. I've accumulated many screenshots of that Instagram account, which people are posting in the internet, and I've found out an interesting pattern:

Hypothesis: the number of followers were rising in time. Less followers the account have on the screenshot , than it was made earlier.
So the first screenshot of profile+following was made first. We see there 742 followers and it's the number close to what was saved in bing cache: https://www.bing.com/search?q=url%3Ahttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.instagram.com%2Fthomasmatthew_crooks%2F&go=Search&qs=bs&form=QBRE
And at this first screenshot he had been following only 16 accounts. And none of that account were associated with BPHS (his school).

The most plausible explanation is that someone took an old account, changed name and impersonated the shooter. He probably removed original 50 followings and added some new, associated with liberals and guns. But as time was passing and media were announcing more precise information, he added bunch of profiles associated with bphs.
Congratulations, master level troll! I've wasted the whole night on that.

Hey guys, I have another strong twist.
His father didn't pass away. But his GRANDfather passed away in 2019 and he was indeed 2019 veteran.
Also his father was registered as libertarian and his mother was registered as DEMOCRAT.
He has made donation to progressive something at the age of 17 - at it's a chance that he did it for his mother.
Just one week after he turned 18 he registered himself as a republican - so it seems it was important to him.
So whoever has created that fake Instagram account must had some nonpublic knowledge about the family of Thomas Matthew Crook. Or he knew how to make research very quickly.
