I'm not struggling, but you clearly are. Get them help you need. You're only further proving that you need it and have been wildly influenced by propaganda that's only meant to divide us and spread hate. (-1)

I didn't get any really answers on this -- how are people finding that information that he registered as Republican?
My knowledge goes as far as "IF you voted is public, but HOW you voted isn't"
Mostly wanting to know because my mom and I are on great terms but we don't agree politically and she doesn't know we don't agree. I don't want her being able to see which way I lean.

Your party registration is public, your voting history is not. If you care more about voting in your party's primary elections, register that party. If you care more about your mom looking you up (unlikely), register as her party or "independent".
Lots of people register for one party then change voting behavior as they get older, I originally registered as a democrat.

I have no idea which one I registered as.
I looked up my state's voter site and it doesn't say.
Edit: ok it must not apply to my state

Yea one of my buddies is super left. Maybe not as much on fringe social issues but definitely economically and such.
He was a registered republican until 2016 when he changed it to vote for Bernie in the primary. I wouldn't put any stock into what box an 18 year old checks because it's usually just what parents or friends want.

When you register for selective service, you are given a choice between Democrats, Republicans, Independent Free Cities, The Border Cartels, The California Technocratic Alliance, New Furrytopia etc. It doesn't affect your voting choices, but if civil war breaks out, you are automatically drafted to the side you pick.

Ok so I'm also confused because I got my absentee in the mail today and it's all local stuff. Apparently the Presidential Primary was back in April, but I never had an opportunity to vote in that. How do people do the "register as the opposite side, vote a shittier candidate" fraud

It varies by state.
In Pennsylvania, it's an option you choose when you register.
In some states, you just show up to the polling station on primary day and they ask you which primary you want to vote in.

When you register to vote you pick a party affiliation between Democrat Republican and Independent. This is on the public voter rolls. In some states you can only vote in primaries for the party which you are affiliated. There's a voting strategy both parties apply called crossover voting in these states(especially swing states with this rule) where they promote affiliating with the opposite party in order to manipulate the opposing party's primary.

Many states have you register to receive ballots in primaries. Some states you can choose not to register, but then you are restricted to voting on only 1 ballot. Plenty of people register cross-party to try to sabotage electoral chances by voting for bad candidates in the opposing party primary. I chose not to register so I can vote for either Ds or Rs depending on which slate of candidates is more dramatic and r-slurred (and the Rs are usually very incompetent so they don't even run candidates for lots of local offices and mail out a blank ballot every primary season, so I typically vote for whichever Crystal Mommy D is running)
