What? What Remains of Edith Finch only takes a few hours start to finish. You must have pretty much given up instantly on reaching the forest because that section doesn't take long at all. (1067)
Yep, hence the title (-89)

Honestly that is hilarious OP. The two branching paths are literally just for an achievement, it makes no difference which you take, you don't even need to enter the forest and if you do, going through the forest takes maybe 30 seconds? A minute tops. This is the equivalent of booting up Mario Bros, seeing the first jump and thinking "geez that looks like a lot of hassle..." and quitting. (3903)

Well, they download it because it's free. (51)

Not really immediately but I finished the story in Diablo 4 and felt no desire to keep going. The story was pretty good better than the prequels. But man that end game on release was abysmal. It killed my interest in the game and Diablo has always been about end game grind so I feel it counts. (-1)

Two games that are absolutely dogshit which reddit loves are spec ops the line and prey 2017.
Spec ops is baby's first war critique story because g*mers don't read literature or watch anything that's not capeshit related.
Mission 2 starts with you sneaking up to two soldiers that are having a talk on a balcony, and I'm thinking 'no way am I doming two guys from behind' so I kept listening to their dialogue, I knew I'd have to kill them eventually but I did not want to at that moment, maybe my character will say something. As soon as they finished their talk, they 180-ed and started shooting me, from that point onward I mowed everything in front of me without a 2nd thought.
White phosporus I've seen from a mile away as well but the game did not let me advance without bombing the civies.
Not to mention it's the game redditors unironically defend with the line 'developers purposely made it control like shit because they wanted you to not have fun playing it', lol and lmao.
HUGE PLUS:
In one of the early missions soldiers are shooting me from everywhere and suddenly someone is running into me from a narrow corridor, I instinctively shot and it turned out to be a civvie running away from the soldiers shooting.
That got a reaction out of me, 'did I really just do that?', it was very well done, no red screen, no scolding message, just a dead civilian because of a panic shot.
Also there's a scene where a mob is trying to lynch you after hanging your buddy off a pole, I started blasting them because they're advancing towards me and they just hanged my buddy, turns out I could have shot a few rounds into the air and they would have ran away
The rest of the game is just developers eating shit because you dared to buy their game and actually play it.
Prey 2017 was just boring after a very good start, I stopped playing it after I called the ending two or three hours in.
Almost no human npc in sight, whole storybuilding is spread throughout notes you find in random places and one of them conveniently goes 'hey, wouldn't it be cool if mimics could mimick humans', and I was like 'yea, no way this isn't the twist' so I googled it and it was, stopped playing there.
But I didn't find the game particularly interesting, I expected something more like dishonored.

Man I have the exact same impression of spec ops. Fricking redditors.

I really enjoyed Prey 2017 because it reminded me of dead space 1 but I went in with no expectations because I didn't know anything about the game

Spec Ops The Line isn't even a war critique story. It's a criticism of a very specific style of military shooter from 2008-2013 but redditors have never experienced anything more complex than capeshit and think it's criticising war. The setting and plot is crafted specially to not resemble any actual military action and it primarily exists of taking military shooter plot points and setpieces and then going "look how psychotic this would actually be" which it does well. The Wily Pete scene isn't meant to make you go "war is bad :(" but "isn't it fricked up how death from above segments are fun interludes we never see the aftermath of".

The ending reveals thatyou are a mimic, where you play as a human in a simulation, that's being tested on to see if mimics can have empathy for humanity
