Because it doesnt, lol. The act of being a registered republican is more relevant.

What you meant to say, but didn't is that at one point he was a liberal donor.

Worldviews change as people age. Donald trump used to be a democrat, is he still a democrat?

So, he donates money and it doesn't count because "it doesn't, lol."

Since he has only ever donated to liberal causes, it would seem to me he fits the definition of small dollar liberal donor. That seems to be more logical than "because it doesn't, lol".

If worldview change as people age, as you say, why couldn't he start as a Republican then become a liberal extremist?

Your thought process here is dumb, thats the issue. We know he was a registered republican, we know he was in a rifle club, we know the house he lived in had pro republican signs, the people that knew him remember him being a conservative.

If worldview change as people age, as you say, why couldn't he start as a Republican then become a liberal extremist?

Because the most recent evidence points to him being a republican.

At some point in the future that might have changed, but he never made it there.

You only think my thought process is dumb because I quoted you verbatim, and you're forgetful I guess.

I've not seen that evidence, in fact I've seen evidence that he was apolitical at best, and that there are no yard signs. I'd welcome sources to be corrected, however.

I agree he was probably apolitical, I;ve said that the entire time. I don't think he was ideologically motivated by being a republican, I was just arguing against the idea he was some ideological liberal extremist.

:marseyconfused:

I don't think either of those acts mean a whole lot, but the registration definitely doesn't matter. You need to register as a republican to vote in the republican primary there, and many people in republican-dominated areas do this.

People do the opposite here in Chicago. I know people who are republicans but """register""" as a democrat to vote in the democrat primaries, since the general elections are obviously going to go to the person with a (D) next to their name. Sure they'll vote for the (R) in the general election but that election is always going to go to the (D) so you have more sway in the primary where the races are far closer.

At one point Cucker Carlson was a registered democrat.
