TBF, retroactively setting up sewage treatment is extremely expensive, especially when storm water and sewage share the same pipes, as in the case in any older city.

My Canadian city discharged raw sewage into the ocean until about 15 years ago, and Victoria BC only completely stopped doing it in 2021, despite having the advantage of being a rather "new" city.

I have heard this told to me at least 4 times by different guys in the trucking industry in Canada and that was before the jeetpocalypse

They drive 3 to a truck, they bring a little hot plate and cook all their food on the road and stop only for gas. It's a hole in the floor usually covered with a piece of wood or floormat or smth
