It's quite a Sunday news drop!

But now...let's put on some thinking caps :marseythonk:

!nonchuds !grillers (sorry for the extra pings, but exceptional times and whatnot) In all seriousness, on a scale from 1 to 10, how (much more?) likely is the coming red wave gonna hit?

Obviously, no matter how much of the redditors cry and seethe and whatnot :soysnooseethe:, it's clear that the more doomer/pessimistic outcomes (i.e. Drumpf makes himself dictator for life, Project 2025 happens, Elon Musk forever censors any and all non-rightoid opinions on Xitter as women are literally forced to quit their jobs and be forever homemakers/baby birthers like the funny Handmaiden book/show) won't be happening, or at least not as fully-comprehensive as either side will expect/anticipate/fear/hope it will be...

...but as of now, it seems as if the Donkey party feels like the next turn-of-the-horseshoe has arrived, and that the presidential election now practically impossible to win. Or is it? Perhaps getting /ourgal/ Kamala (and whomever she wants as a campaign buddy) - or idk, someone else - will open up a chance for a brave and stunning upset? And then there are other candidates, ranging from the typical center-leaning old guard, to perhaps an opening for the progressive Squadsisters (and friends) to finally make America more like the enlightened/"enlightened" Europeans?

But who knows? Maybe it doesn't really matter who the Democrats bring out in Chicago next month, as long as the move allows for them to keep control of the House/Govenors/other local authorities/etc - and maybe once again, prevent the "red wave" from happening? It's not as easy, though... :marseyfranklin:

and ultimately, though, will it really be a big deal if orange man wins? I mean, I am of course not a real fan of the guy personally (great 4 drama tho), but 2016-2019 honestly didn't really feel like anything crazy...which is, granted, a time where I was less interested in politics and whatnot, but still...even through all this crazy shit, I personally find my mindset to be like that of the Brazilian femboy shark :marseysal:

Honestly I don't count on "waves" because on both sides their waves are always disappointing.

If orange man wins it's not going to be a big deal in terms of status quo. We're getting the same shot we had before.

But that won't stop MSM from trying to sell us the sky is falling.

I want Orange man to win, but I refuse to believe that he is electable. I was wrong in 2016, right in 2020, I look forward to see if I will get 2/3.

Policy-wise, probably not. He's actually moderate on most issues, and his "extreme" positions (immigration, free trade, isolationism) are widely popular, so are they really "extreme"?

Trump's threat is that he's a flailing sperg in an office mostly constrained by norms. He triggered a massive constitutional crisis when he refused to concede. There are few things that can hurt the most powerful civilization in history, and constitutional crisis is one of them.
