https://scored.co/c/TheDonald/p/17teNtK1yq/x/c/

The Original post is about a republican foundation calling Trump Hitler, pretty standard stuff really.

Nevertheless, this cause a rift in the dotwin community between the ones who think being compared to Hitler is an insult and the ones who think it is a compliment.

This leads to the greatest minds at theDonald decide debating who is responsible for the rise of Hitler.

1. Is easy, da jooz :chadjew:

Yup, the same Americans interests that put Hitler in power and financed the industrial rise of Nazi Germany are the exact same people who founded the CIA and Military Industrial Complex, launched Operations Gladio and Paperclip, and are still pulling the puppet strings today. (+35)

The Jews didn't put Hitler in power. Holy shit some of you are fricking brain dead (1)

2. Surprise new contenders by the follow up poster. :marseyklennypriest:

Ever heard of the Dulles Brothers, Prescott Bush, Brown Brothers Harriman, DuPonts, Sullivan & Cromwell, etc? All Protestants.

Do some real research before throwing out insults. (+5)

Tbh, I'm not sure if he meant that protestants are the real jews or the real nazis. :marseythinkorino:

3.The next one: muslims :marseyhijab:

Comically the last guy is the most correct. Hitler rose to power mainly because people wanted him to, they hated the communists, monarchists, and liberals so much they picked the wild card option. There is a reason Fascism was called the third way, it was meant to be a perfect blend between collectivism and individualism. Of course, it ended up more like the worst of both.

The economy was in shambles, mainly due to the liberals (not the reparations, they were a drop in the bucket) completely fricking everything up. Germans were scared the USSR would take over Germany (they wanted to), so hated the communists. The monarchists were seen as losers (they were) who lost them global power (they did). Hitler may have ended up in power through some pretty underhanded means, but the fact he didn't have to deal with large scale revolts despite starting a purge is telling.

There weren't really any protests against it because the conservatives levered the nazis into power under the idea the conservatives would still be in control.

The steel helmet parade shortly after Hitler was elected, for example:

To many readers of the newspapers that reported Hitler's appointment, the jubilation of the brownshirts must have appeared exaggerated. The key feature of the new government, symbolized by the participation of the Steel Helmets in the march-past, was surely the heavy numerical domination of the conservatives. 'No nationalistic, no revolutionary government, although it carries Hitler's name', confided a Czech diplomat based in Berlin to his diary: 'No Third Reich, hardly even a 2½.'25 A more alarmist note was sounded by the French ambassador, André François-Poncet. The perceptive diplomat noted that the conservatives were right to expect Hitler to agree to their programme of 'the crushing of the left, the purging of the bureaucracy, the assimilation of Prussia and the Reich, the reorganization of the army, the re-establishment of military service'. They had put Hitler into the Chancellery in order to discredit him, he observed; 'they have believed themselves to be very ingenious, ridding themselves of the wolf by introducing him into the sheepfold.'
