Why NTFS? So you can emulate windows easier when needed?

Cause my seagate drive came like that by default and I used windows with it intially. It has like 3 tb of data backed up on it so to reformat id have to buy a second drive transfer everything to it and then re transfer it back after reformatting. Linux Supports NTFS out of the box no excuses
