I'm going to go out on a limb, but no amount of downloaded child porn is as bad as molesting even one kid in my book. They are both very bad, but it is not hard to rank the relative awfulness.

I disagree, if there was not demand for it, there wouldn't be as much of it on being produced.
By downloading it, especially over 8000 hours of it, you are sending a clear message to the people creating this stuff that more of it should be made, and thus incentivising this horrible business to continue.

I remember a livestreamfail clip of some kid that accidentally moved a window that showed a tor window and it had a torrent client up and his downloads were cp. The worst part was the tags like "Some crying."
They fricking had tags for how much crying is involved.
Anyway that pretty much radicalized me to realizing I didn't hate p-dophiles and their enablers enough.
Seriously if I was president I'd probably launch a secret campaign to kill as many p-dophiles with the resources at my disposal as a off-work hobby.

Na, picturing it as a demand-driven business makes no sense. Aside from the fact that >90% of child abuse involves no camera, even in the cases of caught prolific cp makers they had been abusing the kid long before sharing it online. It's 100% depravity-driven.
Doesn't mean watching it isn't depraved as well, but even if you magically removed all cp from the Internet I don't think it would make a meaningful dent in the amount of child abuse. A better argument is imo that knowing people are still watching it takes a psychological toll on victims in addition to the problems they already have.
