I'm a firm believer that the president should bounce between dem and rep every 8 years. Enough time to do a little something but not enough to completely implement everything. Provides a good balance imo

Honestly, yes. I'd maybe say the White House being in the same party's hand for a max of 12 years is fine, but provided there's an opposition Congress.
The presidency is effective 18 months anyway in terms of real power to do anything. The Confederate Constitution - which was mostly a copy and paste job - did make one change I could agree with: presidency limited to one, six-year term.
