Husband isn't voting (self.rant)

https://old.reddit.com/r/rant/comments/1ec571r/husband_isnt_voting/

If there is one nazi in a room and the 9 other people in the same room don't speak out and make a stand to oppose him, there are 10 nazis in the room.

if your husband won't vote against fascism and project 2025 he is complicit, just as bad as the MAGA fascists who vote for the wannabe dictator and convicted felon Donald Trump

I made the mistake of saying that during our fight....I'm now sleeping in my car.

I'm on the same side as your husband.

He also doesn't understand why women choose bear and he watches conspiracy theory videos all the time.

Well if he can't understand something as simple as the woman vs bear thing then I probably wouldn't expect him to understand the finer details of presidential candidates; in that case I wouldn't stress myself trying to make him see any further.

My god, "educate myself", "educate him", you're a broken record of preachy insufferability

Oh, I'm sorry. Did I offend you by being too logical about a situation you're trying to flip to fit your narrative?

>the gist of it is that the president doesn't matter and it's congress/senate that actually does shit

Where's the lie, though? Roe v Wade was repealed well into Biden's presidency

If anything the Trump presidency proved just how little power the president has. His efforts were constantly shot down. Like sure they can do a few things here and there, like judge nominations, but at the end of the day congress actually makes some of the biggest influences to Americans day-to-day lives

Like even when it comes to the Supreme Court congress can overwrite decisions with laws.

Obviously both sides of Congress are rarely controlled by the same party which complicates things. But the point is if they can make a bigger impact, they write the laws for one of the branches to enforce

Napoleon just stole a crown from a bishop

Napoleon came at the end of 10 years of massive political instability and thousands of executions often for dubious reasons. He was an active general with tens of thousands of troops in his command.

Trump complained about the election results and some LARPers took it to heart.

I'll rephrase

Does it matter that Napoleon doesn't let the bishop crown him?

It was the Pope himself and he was going to be made emperor whether or not he took the crown.

lmao. so close!

you should look into the coup attempt in 2016 turkey https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016_Turkish_coup_attempt

The counter to that is that Trump as president was able to appoint the SC judges who overruled it. If Shillary had won RvW probably would still be in place.

So why didn't Biden appoint better judges
