Brother, about how many times a year do you watch sports? That is called a "play-by-play" and is the strandard way all sports are broadcast around the world. It will often be paired with a former athlete from the sport doing "color commentary" where they talk about why the athletes are doing things or tell stories about their time in the sport. You are not alone, but are in the minority for not liking it. Most in your situation mute their television while the sport is in action instead of complaining on an online drama forum.
