That thread is all gold. Everyone types like a typical dorky white dude. I cant imagine trying to relive or recapture your youth, but I guess it's kind of metaphorical

These dudes cant get the real deal so they settle for a poor forced facsimile

I would totally go to this (though I might happily settle for the local Edwardian Ball, which has a lot of the same kind of vibe, packaged up in a steampunk kink format).

yeah. I wish I didn't go. I had no real date because girls didn't date me. I went with a girl I had a huge crush on but she only wanted to go "as friends." The big prom after party was at my house because my mom was out of town, and the next day I woke up to find my date in my mom's bed with my best friend. She wanted to use me to get close to him.

So, the entire experience is sore 30 years later.
