how old is grade 12 there? looks like rather practical math to me, what's the normal math that's taught at that level?

Grade 12 = matric = the last year before tertiary/university education. (17 or 18 years old!)

It is practical stuff, but the level is VERY stupid. Like, this is an actual an exam question: Convert 520cm to meters. I shit you not, it's on page 153.

edit: on the same page, marks for converting 1 and a quarter to a fricking decimal. This is fricking atrocious and unironically makes me angry. It is possibly the same or worse standard as the Bantu Education provided by the Nats.

It's fine to teach people this shit who aren't going to college. Make sure they can read, write, and do numbers well enough to function in society and send them off. Unfortunately out elites can't admit that college isn't for everyone.
