Watching this movie as an African is horrifying | r/MeanGirls

The amount of stereotypes about Africa being a literal jungle is very disturbing. Like i get there are jungles but Africa ≠ Jungle.

Edit: I realize my wordings are not well chosen to convey what i meant in the post. There are many stereotypes, yes. They are disturbing to ME. It's my observation. Having the jokes in the movie is not the problem. It was funny in the beginning but then it wasn't after the 7th joke. I'm not mad. Just uncomfortable. Having experienced ignorance like this before on multiple occasions, It was weird. There are countless movies that mock asians, so who am i to raise my brows?

lmao that b-word has never been to Africa. Every time someone says "As a _____________" and starts arguing, you know it's a larp.
