This would make sense if the adults who were making money early were having a shit ton of kids.

It's not even women being girlbosses really, like some dramatards are ironically/unironically implying. It has more to do with the increasing extension of childhood long into people's 20's and even 30's, where the idea of having kids is existentially threatening to adult-children who fear having to be depended on by the subsequent generations.

People just straight up don't want to have kids and in the middle of the spectrum genuinely would rather have a cat and an abortion than kids. I was browsing the Facebooks of some people I went to high school with and only the ghetto couples (who mostly got pregnant as teens) or the Chad and Stacy Mormons/Evangelicals have kids. Almost everyone in the middle doesnt

I don't know if there's a term for it but there seems to be a pseudo-trad group of young couples who make decent money having kids. I say pseudo-trad because they're often religious but not full blown evangelicals, in fact many are likely to be pro-choice and progressive in general. This is a Midwest thing from what I've seen and I think it's because of you don't live in an area with tons of other rich young couples who spend a lot keeping up appearances and going on vacations one of the ways they cope with the slog of going to work is having kids. But I'm not confident enough to say this is a thing for sure.
