I'm now skeptical of any story claiming a woman or underrepresented minority achieved anything of note, solely because well-meaning liars stretching the truth.

Yeah, there was also that woman who put the man on the moon (assigned to the project as administrator by her husband when it was essentially done). Also the one that "discovered DNA structure" (no, she absolutely did not).

Meanwhile there are extremely important achievements by women, some of which were also obviously unfairly passed over, that nobody knows about for some reason. For example, the discovery of parity violation. It's some toxoplasma of rage stuff or something.
