Ada Lovelace is a Fraud

I want to explain why I am a misogynist, and why I don't dislike women (I know that sounds like a contradiction; read on)

I abandoned the whole concept of female scientists and technicians when I learned about the person who ported Doom to the 3DO.

All my life, people told me, "she" did it in 4 weeks or something, working on "her" own. I always thought, "okay that's neat. Good for "her.""

And of course, one day, I learned that he's a :marseytrain:.

This left me feeling betrayed and disillusioned. I vowed henceforth that I would never trust a news source that portrayed a woman as technically apt. I don't discount the concept entirely, but I have to assume it's a :marseytrain: unless proven otherwise.

So that's why I hate women- not because I hate women, but because I hate men pretending to be women.

So, women, if you want to be respected by men, I urge you to reject :!marseytrain:s. :!marseytrain:s not only give men a bad name, they, more importantly, cause men like me to hate women. If you're a feminist, and you truly want to advance the cause of women, then you must choose to be a TERF. For if you choose to be a redditor, you do your gender a disservice.

Feminist cute butches disprove their own thesis when they come out with this shit.

The idea is supposed to be that women's achievements have been buried, instead of women just not being interested/capable.

But at the same time, feminists themselves don't even care enough to actually research the topic.

Instead, they find one proto-ethot and big her up to the point of absurdity, while never having heard the names Klara von Neumann or Grace Hopper.

What's crazy is that the story makes 0 sense if you stop and think about it for 1 second.

Somehow we're supposed to believe that Babbage, the guy who invented that computer, never tried to write programs for it.

Like he was building a really expensive living room piece and didn't realize he could run programs on it.

I mean that's entirely possible. The people who designed C++ templates never intended them to be Anal Touring-complete.

There is a radioactivity lady right there Marie Curie. You also have a bunch of interesting women in genetics, even to the extent that some of them were actually shunned for their discoveries until decades later science had to catch up to them.

There is no way feminists don't have actual women to choose who actually contributed to the sciences so it makes no sense why they keep choosing to die on these tard hills other than the fact that they are either too lazy to research, or more likely that they are just embracing the stories they can relate to. ( It wasn't that I wasn't perfect or good enough, it was that society was keeping me down ), but even so are too dumb to actually recognize the ones who were really put down.

Most """professional""" feminists studied in the humanities and they have no idea about any scientific topic. I've learmed more about cool female neurodivergents from my engineering teachers than from self righteous moral crusaders tbh

didn't it turn out that the woman that discovered DNA's helical shape actually just republished a study by some chinese man

Chinese men are women, though :boomermonster:

I'm now skeptical of any story claiming a woman or underrepresented minority achieved anything of note, solely because well-meaning liars stretching the truth.

Yeah, there was also that woman who put the man on the moon (assigned to the project as administrator by her husband when it was essentially done). Also the one that "discovered DNA structure" (no, she absolutely did not).

Meanwhile there are extremely important achievements by women, some of which were also obviously unfairly passed over, that nobody knows about for some reason. For example, the discovery of parity violation. It's some toxoplasma of rage stuff or something.

Ada Lovelace was the first programmer.

You might disagree. You might even have evidence to the contrary. But you have to ask yourself: is this really worth losing my job over?

Ada Lovelace was the first programmer.

She grammed and men grumbled. Nevertheless, she persisted!!!!

This is what I never understood. Someone had to design the machine she programmed, how would that not make them the first programmer?

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

yeah you have to somehow believe that someone invented a machine like that but never programmed anything for it while developing it

You're right. Babbage's designs were also forgotten until well after modern computing was well established. By the way, this article still claims Ada Lovelace was the first programmer https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_computing .

Could you be any less of a cute twink? Christ, how about not making shit up because misinformation is bad? Or is that something that people just invoke when the other side says something they don't like?

Ada Lovelace is a real person. What's patronizing about it? We didn't make her up out of pity for women.

I love the fudging of the language here. No one says she was made up they say her accolades are built on a pity-lie

I see a complete disregard for truth, that's how they justify it.

I'd be too busy peeling my wife and daughter off of which ever one of those boys got too close to either one of them to be worried about dealing with the boys myself. Wife does cross-fit and fight club and daughter is a preteen Spartan looking for a wolf to turn into a trophy. I'm the most dangerous one, but knowing that about myself also means that I'm the least likely of us three to throw down unnecessarily.
