ME2 is the best nu-Bioware game. It was the where the original narrative and traditional RPG elements were scrapped so the series could focus on the companion characters and fanservice, but it did those things really well. It had way bigger mass appeal and garnered a rabid (albeit trash) audience. Andromeda and Inquisition tried to come up with plots that weren't solely in service of advancing companion characters stories and they ended up making both worse.

The fricking companions in inquisition besides like 2 were fricking dumpster
fire tier. I didn't even feel motivated for more character 
interaction because they were fricking so fricking 
unlikeable

I actually think the gay mage from Tevinter was probably the best companion in that game as BioWare actually managed to make him grounded and not that annoying besides for his daddy issues.
Varric or whatever that Dwarf was named was named was too forced and a try hard. I think the Iron Bull kind of ends up being like this too.
Solas, Cassandra and Blackwell were all boring.
Vivienne was a massive b-word. Sera was also a massive b-word but was an r-slur on top of that lol.
