But basically, he's woken up to the fact his wife either is, or turned into, a modern foid. His sexuality is now evil, hers is empowering to all women. Funny thing is that it's the old sitcom trope of the husband always wants s*x and the wife is the gatekeeper, but more polarised; the man should now be shamed for every sexual thought in case he starts to think this arrangement might be unhealthy.
But I suspect she just doesn't like him very much anymore. And she's made it clear she would choose the bear over her own husband.

His personality is stopping him, plus he said he didn't want solutions involving divorce. But he's basically become such an 'ally' that I doubt he'd conceive of himself leaving his wife over the fact she treats him like shit.
The kids are likely a factor as well, but who knows how much would also be not wanting to take such big steps when he's been told so often that this is what he deserves. It's exactly the sort of reason why men like this have affairs or see hookers, though.
