I just learned that the Na'vi were the real villains in Avatar. Billions of human lives depended on taking just a small area of Pandora, yet they refused to allow mining to take place because... religion. As their god Eywa noted, their only three rules were:

No, once you designate someone an "alien" towards whom you have no sense of responsibility and whose lives you're willing to destroy for the sake of your planet...then the "aliens" get to treat you the same way. Moral equivalence.

I would rather be a hive minded Na'vi than a human. Just look at their lives man. They can fly amongst floating mountains and swim and bond with whales. Their happiness index would be higher than the US.

In that case Eywa is the real villain. An alien ant-queen, with the Naavi just acting as her worker/warrior drones.

You don't understand. The humans are white-coded and the blueiggers are Injun-coded. Therefore, humans bad.
This happens for Starship Troopers, too. In Starship Troopers, a few dozenish illegal, banned, strictly verboten settlers settled on an alien world. The aliens responded by directing meteors to hit earth, killing millions. They continued to send more meteors with the intention of eliminating the human race. Naturally, the Earth govermment decided it was bug-killin' time.
Youtube has a lot of videos with Millenial and Zoomie leftoids saying that all of humanity deserved to be wiped out because they're the bad guy coloonizers in the story. The modern left's need to stab their in-group in the back is stronk.

my main seethe over avatar is that the humans lost tbh, you can do a story where primitives defeat a technologically superior force, but it requires a lot of intelligent work to justify, and usually less of a gap than ground vs orbit. Why didn't humanity just nuke the entire region? It's just stupid and contrived, the aliens only won because the plot said so

Like the other guy says, humanity didn't lose. The small expeditionary force they were able to land on Avatar planet lost, then in the second film they sent a much larger landing that obliterated vast chunks of avatar for a massive human city to form

Humans are the good guy since they want to progress. Blue monkeys just ferment on their planet chucking spears at each other while humans travel to other planets.
In billions of years when Pandora's sun expands into red giant and burns the planet to crisp all what Navi protected will be gone, but if humans are to harvest the resources, those resources may serve the expansion of interstellar human empire capable of standing the test of time.
All the I Fricking love science redditors should support humans, or they are stinking hypocrites.

In the AU story Roboutian Heresy it's Guilliman who turns traitor instead of Horus. Sanguinius falls to Slaanesh instead of Fulgrim to try and find a cure for the red thirst. Instead of a cure they're inflicted with the ability to relieve the memories, sensations and emotions of whoever they drink blood from.
Sanguinius is in total denial he's a monstrous debased traitor is guarded by his own legion in a delusional fantasy where Horus is still his best friend until the clones of Horus eventually see him as he truly is and attempt to kill him, having to keep killing Horus sends him further and further off a cliff of insanity as he falls upon Horus and relieves his brother's hatred and disgust at what he is as he devours him. After the eventual breakdown he demands his brother back and Fabius Bile is summouned to supply another clone of Horus like a sacrificial lamb.
